After my stitches were removed this morning, the nurse asked me if I wanted to keep the kit (in photo). If not, she would be throwing it away. I asked about sterilization. She said it is less expensive for them to use a new kit with each procedure ~ that sterilization is super expensive. I was shocked. SO much waste. What about recycling? I didn't think to ask.

Rather expensive and wasteful to throw it out, but perhaps costs more to sterilize. A bit of a dilemma.
