Throwback Thursday

Summer, 1951 ~  I'm not sure who the bike belonged to.  Maybe Patrick.  At 3 years old, it was definitely too big for me, but I look like I really wanted to ride it.  That would have been a little hard sideways, in a dress, and there was no chance my feet would have met up with the pedals.
Do you think I EVER wore shoes?

Collection

This is my religious icon/cross wall that is in the hall where the guest bedrooms branch off.  I have a difficult time passing by any religious item if I'm at an estate or tag sale.  What started as a small collection years ago just keeps on growing.

Throwback Thursday

How I would love to sit on that porch and play with that dollhouse today.  My heart fills with joy when I think back to what a happy little girl I was.  My mother made me feel safe and loved and provided for.  And look... no shoes!!!

Outside My Window

Outside my window this morning.  This is taken from the front of the house.  Colors are just not as vibrant this year and there is still a lot of green.
This is taken from the side of the house looking toward the back.  Still waiting for that "pop" of color.
This one is taken out my living room window in the back of the house.  We are blessed to have gorgeous views.

Mileage

Friday night, on our way home from Mr. Magic's Birthday dinner, his SUV had an event of its own! Of course, I had to document it.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Mr. Magic !!
On this gorgeous Autumn day, my wish for you is a year of good health, happiness, and exciting things to look forward to.  It wasn't the best year for me, but you stuck by my side and helped me muddle through.  I'll do my best to make this year a good one for both of us.
Happy Birthday, Terry.  I love you.

Gorgeous trees!!

This is day 4 of grey skies, gloom, and rain, with severe storms on the way for tonight and tomorrow ~ high winds and heavy rain.  This lone deer better find family and a warm safe haven in the woods.

Consignment Booth at Buy The Season

 Buy The Season
 Buy The Season
 Buy The Season
 Buy The Season
Having just celebrated its 9th anniversary, Buy The Season has over 24,000 square feet and 150 vendors.  It is well known and shopped by many in the Roanoke Valley and beyond.
 My Booth (#2173)
It is pretty full right now with everything from furniture to linens, figurines, lamps, books, frames, wall decor, Autumn decor, Holiday decor, jewelry, dolls, greeting cards, vintage items, and more.

Many vendors have started adding Christmas to their booths.  I'm going to do my best to hold off till Halloween is over.  I have a lot of merchandise for Christmas, but I don't want to rush the Season.  I am approaching my 5th year of being a part of the Buy The Season family.

Mail Addressed to Jake

Jake received a surprise package today in the mail.  After smelling the package and licking the cellophane, I am guessing he totally approves.  Sweet Ibby Taylor Greer sent this darling package of cards shown above in the photo.  Oh, doxies are SO cute and Ibby has a BIG, BIG heart!!

Casey, living 400 miles from your doorstep was not in my life plan.  But little boys grow up and go where their heart takes them.  My confidence that you carry me in your heart is enough.  Please know my absolute joy in celebrating the day you were born.  It was my lucky day!  I love you.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, my dear Casey !!

Throwback Thursday

October, 1984
This was a night to remember.  I actually bowled in this outfit.  Almost everyone in our league dressed up for Halloween that night.  Many of us went out on the town after.  It was great fun seeing people dressed in their Halloween best and I enjoyed being a cavewoman for the night!  I boiled chicken bones - made earrings from them, hung some from my waist, and tied some on the covers I made for my feet.  My dear friend, Bruno, helped me sew this thick furry material.  He was an active tailor at that time, so he knew just what to do.
I remember this night like it was last week.  Where did all the years go?

It is a cool crisp gorgeous Fall day ~ a little wind, a few clouds, some sun, and the trees just beginning their change of color.  Life is good!!

Happiness is a Box From BLICK

I received this box of goodness from BLICK yesterday.  Many cradled box panels and wire to hang them with.  Does it look like I might be planning to do some serious painting?
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Carol !!
Sweet friend, it has been a very long time since we've seen each other.  But, those friends who have been special in our lives somehow find a place in our heart and there they stay for all time.  "Ruth Guth", I wish you happiness, love, and a lot of fun on this special day.
I will always be "Jelly Fish" to you.
