Off to the Wedding

I thank all of you for your kind words and sympathy. We are leaving in the morning for South Carolina. We will attend a service for John probably on Friday and then the wedding is on Saturday. It will be a few days filled with a mixture of sadness and joy.
I will be off Blog till sometime next week. When I return, I will post pictures from the wedding. I hope you all have a good Memorial Day weekend!

Sunday Evening

I couldn't help myself. I had to have another look.

Goodness, I think they are growing by the hour. We are leaving for South Carolina on Wednesday, so I won't get to look after that. I'll have to have my sister keep watch over them while I'm away.

Another Peek

They are growing. I saw a little beak at the hole and so I thought I would take another quick peek. See the eye and the little beak down in the right hand corner? Sweet!

A Busy Mom

Mom is taking these large grubs into the house constantly. I didn't count, so I don't know how many little mouths she has to feed. They must be a hungry brood.

Keeping Watch

There are baby bluebirds in the house and Mom and Dad never stop feeding them and keeping them safe. The squirrel doesn't dare come to eat these days. Last week, mom and dad were dive bombing at the squirrel until it finally ran off.
Here are a few photos of recent activity: Keeping Watch * Removing shell from the nest * A snack from Mom * A snack from Dad

I hope I'm not in SC when the little ones decide to leave the nest. If I'm here, I will certainly take pictures of the little ones jumping.

A Few Recent Photos

Just a few photos I've taken in the last week. Plants and flowers in the flowerbeds are growing nicely. We planted a new river birch tree and a new weeping willow tree. I will post pictures of them soon. The blue jay visited yesterday ~ the first I've seen him this year. The deer haven't been around for weeks, but suddenly appeared the other day. I've not been feeling well, but I can still push that little button on the camera!!

Getting On With My Life

Even with a sore throat, I managed to squeeze out a little smile for you, my friends.

I am still fighting this virus. Each time I start to get better.... here it comes again with a vengeance. This has been going on since April 26th and I am very, very tired of feeling this way. I have been on antibiotics, then double dose antibiotics, and now allergy pills. I've decided to ignore it and get on with my life.

Casey and Amanda are getting married on Saturday, May 29th, and I need to get ready! Terry and I will leave for South Carolina on the 26th and that doesn't leave me much time to prepare.

Mom is still fighting this virus, as well. My sister and B-I-L are coming to stay with her while we are away. My brother, Patrick, went back to Texas on Sunday. It was great to have him here - but not feeling well, we didn't get to do all the things we wanted to. Hopefully, he will be able to make a trip back soon.

I know I haven't blogged in quite a while. Not feeling well and being busy with other things just didn't allow me the time. But, I'm back and I will do my best to keep up with things. Of course I will be gone for the wedding, but I will post many pictures when I return. I don't think it has really hit me yet that my baby is getting married. I don't want to, but I know I will cry! Amanda and Casey have been together for almost 10 years, so it seems they do indeed love each other and make each other happy. What more could I ask for? My son is marrying the girl he loves and I can honestly say that my daughter-in-law and I get along really well and have fun together. It will be an exciting weekend!!

I'm not leaving till next week, so I hope to post some things before then. Thanks for understanding my absence. I've noticed that a number of you have taken little breaks from blogging lately. So, my timing wasn't all bad. Please say a little prayer for me so I can feel good for this wedding. I would hate to be sick on this important day in my son's life. Thanks.

Relapse

It has not been a good couple of weeks. I had a relapse and spent Saturday morning at Urgent Care. Had to take Mom to Urgent Care this morning as she was getting worse, too. Not a good way to start Mother's Day. My poor brother came all the way from Texas and we've been sick almost his entire visit.
All is ok, though, and we are doing our best to get better.
On a good note, things have been selling very fast in my consignment space. I need to get well so I can get busy and collect more treasures to sell. Also, my son's wedding is at the end of this month ~ I have a number of things to do in preparation for that.
I will try to get back to regular blogging as soon as possible. I know my posts and comments have been few and far between.
Sorry.

A mother's love endures through all; in good repute, in bad repute, in the face of the world's condemnation, a mother still loves on.

My Consignment Shop Space

Well, here is my space loaded up with as much as I could throw together for now. I have a lot of inventory to go through and get ready to put in the space. I painted some plant stands, but I would like to eventually put some small original art in here.
I am not where I want to be with the space right now. It will take time as many of you have pointed out.
However, it is what it is right now and I have been receiving compliments on it, so I am happy.
My DH Terry, and my brother Patrick, helped me SO much with this. Yesterday, they put together a bookcase and hauled all the boxes of items into the place for me. I was exhausted at the end of the day ~ I would have never been able to get it done without them.
Thank you, Terry and Patrick. I love you both!!!!

Consignment Space Update

This was a very, very long day and my DH, my brother and I are beat!! It took us all day to build the "L" wall. It was difficult to take a photograph to show what the area really looks like. This first photo is my space, empty, before we began construction of the wall. It is 7' x 10' and seeing the backs of things from other spaces does not help with the visual. We ran out of time and didn't get all the furniture brought in because the shop was closing just about the time we finished the wall.
Patrick and I will take the remaining items in tomorrow and I will set up shop.
Even this photo doesn't show a true visual. It looks all squashed and small in this picture. Once I get everything set up, I will take another photo and hope that will give you a better idea.
I am very happy with the fence wall. It looks good, clean, and a pleasant shade of green.
I better go rest - there is a lot of work ahead of us again tomorrow. There is no way I could have done this today without the help of Terry and Patrick. I will hopefully post better pictures of a completed space in the next day or two.

A Busy Sunday

I am headed to the consignment shop today to start construction of my wall. My DH has helped me SO much on this project. We purchased fence boards and painted them in a pale washed green. I started painting them right before I got sick and he took over and finished since I was not feeling well. Once we get them up today, we'll come back home to pick up the furniture I've purchased to use as display pieces. I will take photos to post as I go along. I sure hope this ends up being worth all the time and work that is going into it.

I hope everyone has a beautiful, peaceful Sunday and you get to do something you enjoy!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, Jim and Pat!
