Some People Sleep

1:20am  ~  Outside my bedroom window.  It's a beautiful calm night.  You can see Saturn in the "V" of the tree top - Such a small speck from down here on Earth.

A Lovely Surprise

I am blessed with beautiful caring friends.  Yesterday, I found a surprise package in the mailbox from long time Ohio friend Tom Stephan.  He knows I love and collect Blessed Mother statues.
She is lovely, Tom.  Thank you ever so much. ♥
I've posted a photo of my collection for those who haven't seen it.

Tiny Art Journal

Today, I received the smallest art journal I've ever seen.  It is 2-1/2" x 1-1/2", has 30 pages, and two of the pages are pockets that hold sweet tiny tags as shown.  This was made by Ricki Midbrod of Arizona.  It's incredible.

An Abundance of Deer

There is certainly no shortage of deer in our neighborhood this year.  I see at least one, and usually more, every day!  These are just a couple from the last two days.

Throwback Thursday

 Throwback Thursday ~ July, 1949
Picnic in the Park
This is me at 1-1/2 years old.  This is the first time I noticed how much Casey looked like me at a young age.  I can really see it in this photo of him.  It has always been one of my favorites.

Journal Jam #12

My journal spread for Monday's Journal Jam.

Miss Cardinal

Miss Cardinal stopped for a bite this morning.  She says "hello".  Mr. Cardinal keeps coming to the window feeder, but leaves immediately when he sees me.

She's a Beauty

This beauty was resting along the side of the road this evening.  She just looked at me as I took photo after photo.  What a gift to spend a few minutes with her.
I see magic every Monday night on my drive home from Vendor Night.

Magic

This weekend, I found magic in my mailbox!
The first two photos show my purchases from Susanne Skene of Canada ~ a lovely mini accordion book "Bird Tales", and a Wabi Sabi art journal.  I love Susanne's art style and I'm thrilled to add these to my collection.  She even sent a tiny art journal - because she is sweet like that.
The remaining photos show a few pages from the mini book that I purchased from Seth Apter of New York.  SO many layers and SO much detail.  Seth always says "More is More"!  I love it!
I am proud to call these two artists "friend"!
The cover of Seth's mini book ~ 2-3/4" x 2-1/4"

Last month I took Seth's "Mini Madness" workshop online.  It was wonderful and I learned so much about mini bookmaking.  I have just about completed my first mini book - 2 pages left to finish.  I am very happy with it and will post when completed.

Moss

All this rain makes a soft bed of moss for this lion to sleep on in my flower bed.

More Beauty

How good is our God?  These skies make me breathless.

Beauty

The rain brought cooler temperatures, and gave us this beautiful sky over Twelve O'clock Knob out back this evening.
I LOVE this photo.

Hungry Little Buck

This little guy was out backing chowing down on what was supposed to be wildflowers.  I'm glad he enjoyed them ~ they look more like weeds.

More Rain

More rain heading our way this afternoon.  We already have flooding.  This is only going to add to it.
My mountain out back after the heavy heavy rain ~ result of heavy rain and heat!

Throwback Thursday

Throwback Thursday ~ Winter 1973-74
Jim and Casey
Apparently, Fisho thought he would start his son out early learning the pros and cons of card playing.  We played cards a lot back then.  It seems SO long ago.
Happy Father's Day in Heaven, Jim.

Miss Cardinal

It's cool, rainy, and she's hungry.  Yucky weather and windows that need cleaned don't produce very clear photos!

Hydrangea

These gorgeous hydrangea flowers live at my friend Carrie Cox's house.  She kindly let me photograph the beauty.  The last flower is a blooming aloe plant.  Pretty.

Get Together

Get Together ~ The Youngbloods ~ 1967

Love is but a song we sing
And fear's the way we die

You can make the mountains ring
Or make the angels cry

Though the bird is on the wing
And you may not know why

C'mon people now
Smile on your brother
Everybody get together
Try to love one another right now

Some may come and some may go
And we shall surely pass

When the one that left us here
Returns for us at last

We are but a moment's sunlight
Fading in the grass

C'mon people now
Smile on your brother
Everybody get together
Try to love one another right now

If you hear the song I sing
You will understand

Listen

You hold the key to love and fear
All in your trembling little hand

Just one key unlocks them both
It's there at your command

C'mon people now
Smile on your brother
Everybody get together
Try to love one another right now

Sweetie

Sweetie peeking out of the woods out back right now.  It's safe, you can come out.

Work vs Rest

I am working in the garage again today.  Jake is loving being out in the fresh air.  It is putting him to sleep.  I would like to crawl down there and lay next to him instead of preparing things to take into my booth tomorrow.

WOW!

What a show Mother Nature put on a while ago.  I almost missed it.  Ran to the corner store and saw the rainbow when I got home - it was almost gone, but it was gorgeous!
