Solitude

Every so often a disappearance is in order. A vanishing. A checking out. An indeterminate period of unavailability. Each person, each sane person, maintains a refuge, or series of refuges, for this purpose. A place, or places, where they can, figuratively if not literally, suspend their membership in the human race.

I used to crave solitude when the children were little but now I crave human companionship. A lot of the reason is because I am the wife of a trucker & the children are grown......
Beautiful post!!

I think I need a month of this myself....just to regenerate and rest.
We all push ourselves too hard today.
Rest Audrey. At least one of us will have some common sense. ♥

Does this mean you are going to disappear for awhile? I hope not.

I am fortunate enough that my home, my studio, is my refuge.

I won't be disappearing anytime soon, Jan. I have to wait till I have a full month of exercising behind me.

Love the post, something we should all take to heart from time to time.

Hmn, I disappear because I am insane.

Thanks for trying to spam the young witch.

Ces, you were just away a few weeks ago, so you are sane. I have been nowhere in a long time, so I am insane. Make sense?
tsup!

Audrey - this makes me want to take a road trip. Do you think my family will understand? LOL! Maybe I should pick Marilyn up on the way. :) xoxo Pam

Let me see now... Marilyn is in PA, so after you pick her up, you could swing by here in VA to pick me up, then we could head SOUTH! New Mexico has a LOT of art, Pam. How does that sound?
Oh, and I bet there will be others asking you to pick them up on the way, too. LOL!

In 2002, (I was still living in Ohio), I picked up a girlfriend, drove us to Baltimore and we stayed there with a friend. I left them and drove to DC to meet my son's future in-laws, drove back to Baltimore and picked up the girls, drove us to Rehoboth Beach, DE, for a couple of days, back to Baltimore and then back to Ohio. 10 wonderful days and 1500 miles - we had a ball!!! My DH is great - he told me to go and have fun!

So, when do we leave?
(wink...wink)

Because you are so sweet and likeable, and such a good artist, Mita. People only say good things about you.
Did you have nice dreams? Were you in your secret garden?

It is almost 10:00pm and I don't go to bed until 12:00 or 1:00am. I am a night owl! (Oh, that must mean I have a little bit of "witch" in me). Right?

harmony is easily found in solitude. but the place can't be mortgaged, only leased.
