Holy Thursday

Stained Glass Window of The Last Supper in Chartres Cathedral, France.

The Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci

The Last Supper carved in a wall of rock salt in the Wieliczka Salt Mine in Poland
Holy Thursday marks the end of Lent and the beginning of the Sacred Triduum (three days)of Holy Week: Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday.
One of the most important events of Holy Thursday is the commemoration of Our Lord's institution of the Holy Eucharist at The Last Supper.
The Last Supper of Our Lord has inspired great works of art and literature, such as the glorious stained glass window in Chartres Cathedral in France, Leonardo da Vinci's ever popular (and much imitated) Last Supper, and The Last Supper carved in a wall of rock in the Wieliczka salt mine in Poland.

Blessings to you on this Holy Thursday.

I'm always amazed by the different depictions of the Last Supper; from an archeological standpoint, the artists did not *get it right* but from the emotional impact of the stained glas and paintings, it is right on target.
You found some lovely images to portray the event!
Blessings to you Audrey!
