Audrey, great photo of my favorite bird, whether blackbird, crow or raven I love them. I worked in a cemetary office for awhile and the crows this time of year were fascinating to watch. They stole flowers from one grave and dropped them on another. People just wouldn't believe us when we told them, no one had taken their loved ones flowers. The crows were stinkers, makes me laugh. Of course I like naughty little boys too. Linda in New Mexico

I took this photo in South Carolina in May of this year. It was like he was posing for me just waiting for me to snap the shot.
I have mixed feelings about crows and ravens. They are fascinating in their own right, but being a mystic bird sometimes associated with magic and death, they can be scarey. They frighten the smaller birds, can be responsible for crop damage, and some people find the noise factor to be a nuisance. I don't mind the noise they make. I like the sound of all birds and wildlife. They are a great subject to draw and paint. I am fond of this particular photo.
