The Green Cross

These wild vines are growing over the pole and wires very close to the Clifton Forge, Virginia, welcome sign. I was drawn to it immediately. I love seeing wild vines growing in large clusters covering large areas along the highways ~ the green is so thick and beautiful. I realize that some of those vines kill the trees and surrounding growth, but nature does what it wants and we might as well enjoy the beauty while it is there.
This particular growth of vines looked to me like a large green cross overlooking the area. I had to photograph it ~ I think it is beautiful. The hubs was driving and I yelled "Look at the huge cross". He, of course, did not see a cross anywhere and wondered what I was talking about. LOL! Plato was right ~ "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder."

LOL!!!! Last time I yelled while DH was driving to *look at something* not only did he not SEE it, but he got mad at me for yelling!
Yes, I see the cross and it is a stellar picture of nature taking on it's on sculpture.
It's got to be Kudzu to be that vigorous......
Beautiful pic!

I love that you saw that Cross in the vines...one never knows how God will use something to get our attention!

Thank you, Anne. I never knew about Kudzu. Since you mentioned it, I looked it up online. WOW! I read a lot of information and saw some outstanding photos of old barns, etc., covered with Kudzu. I didn't realize I'm living in Kudzu country (the South). The stuff is a beast that can grow a foot in a day! I still think it is beautiful, though.

I see the cross too, it is beautiful. Never hear of Kudzu, will have to look it up. I am with Anne my DH gets mad when I yell in the car also because it scares him (lol)

Marilyn... that made me laugh. Can't you just picture a huge green ghost roaming the streets of Virginia? LOL!

Diva... So true. He is everywhere.

Marlene... There is a lot of info on the net about Kudzu - very interesting. My husband gets mad if I don't yell for him to stop and then I mope because I didn't get the picture. LOL!
OK, everyone, I give up. What is DH? Is it "dear husband"? All this time I thought it was Anne's husband's initials because she uses it a lot.

Great photo! They don't call it Virginia Creeper for nothing! Welcome to Virginia! It's all over our backyard, and we have to cut it back every fall or it would smother all the trees.

Deb, that sounds like a lot of work.

When i was visiting in Alanta kutza was all over the highway. It was a curse for the area since it takes over all the trees and brush. They have a large problem with it since it is a rapid grower....

gallagherassoc....That visit to Atlanta sounds like one of those old horror movies where something that crawls takes over the city. LOL!
