Autumn to Winter

Things are looking very different now. The colorful beauty of Fall has turned several shades of brown with some patches of grey here and there.

Thanksgiving was nice with my sister and brother-in-law here. Since they were leaving to go back to Ohio this morning, Patty and I went out last night and enjoyed a Blackberry Sangria ~ we made a toast to our brother, Patrick, and took some time to reminisce.

The Blackberry Sangria? Oh my! There are no words! These days, I'm just a once-in-a-while drinker, but I think I could handle one of those Sangrias every evening.

Patty and Mom worked on getting Mom's Christmas tree and Nativity up on the days following Thanksgiving. I tried to get caught up on some things and did a little Christmas shopping over the weekend. I refuse to go out on Black Friday. There is no sale worth fighting those crowds for. Sunday wasn't bad.

They headed north early this morning and now it is too quiet here.

Casey and Amanda are coming for Christmas. I am very excited to see them and have them here for several days.

Hopefully, each of you had a pleasant Thanksgiving Day and shared some time with those you love.

Audrey, thanks for sharing your beautiful view once again. Even in winter drabbing it is so pretty. Glad you had time with your Sister and Mom. And I was blessed by your comment about my picture. As I look back now at my life I realize I have never liked having my picture taken and so there are very few of me. My grands have pointed this out. Your comment meant so much to my heart. Thank you. La neige a fait son apparition en France... accompagnée du froid.
Je vous souhaite de belles préparations de noël.

Beautiful Fall photo; we have had rain and FINALLY this afternoon it got cold enough to snow for a few minutes! And yes, I walked out with no coat on and am paying for it now.
I'm in the decorating thing too--though not much. Too much studio work to finish!
TAke care!!!

Lovely evocative photo. glad you had a good thanksgiving. Be careful of those sangria drinks;-) They lead you to the depths of DA-gradation! First, medicinal wine from a teaspoon, then beer from a bottle!!

Audrey
I'd say blackberry sangria was just the right drink for the season. rich colour in the absence of such.
