Yearning for Fall

After months of hot humid weather, yesterday brought us a day of constant drizzling and a drop in the temperature. It was a day of true comfort. The birds returned to the birdbath and feeder and the deer returned to do some casual grazing.

Today, the mugginess hangs heavy in the air and we are right back where we were. Yesterday was a teaser day letting us know that Fall will bring cooler temperatures and relief.

I look forward to those cool crisp days of Fall with the sound of crunching leaves, the smells of cinnamon and spice, and the glorious colors of pumpkins and autumn leaves.

I must remember to be patient. Fall is not far off.

I am of the same ilk. I want to feel that first crisp morning. I want to hear the crunch of dried leaves as you walk. I am in need of some smells of comfort and nesting in. Great post and I'm in line with you for fall. The Olde Bagg

I usually love fall and it is my favorite time of year, but since our Summer has just begun (finally in the 90's) I want it to last a while longer.

I feel the same... Fall has always been my favorite time of the year.... I can feel the coolness coming even through the hot days we have been having... I will not be long.

Me, too, Audrey! We got two nice days, and it was such a relief. I am very ready for the fall, and sweaters, and not sweltering. :) Love your deer pics! xox Pam

Still in the high 90's here with the heat index 105-110. Been a hot miserable summer.

Oh isn't she just lovely! Especially compared to the coyote I encountered on my walk Friday, cruising right down the center of street, no doubt looking for cats. I'd much rather run into your girl. **kisses** Deb
