Hello Friends. I started this Blog in December of 2008 and I've enjoyed it immensely. The biggest joy it has brought me is friendship. I have met some wonderful people because of blogging ~ a few who have become good friends. I am so thankful for that. It seems after 1045 posts, I have run out of my free storage space for photographs. This should be no surprise to me because I love photography and I love sharing my photos with you on this Blog. I had no idea that I would need to purchase space on a monthly basis, but now I know. I have read the necessary information and I just purchased more space from Google. This Blog means enough to me to spend the money it will cost each month. I have read that posts without a photo are rarely read. Apparently, the photo is what draws a person into a Blog. So, I guess no one is going to read this. LOL Actually, I feel pretty sure my pals will read it and understand why there is no photo. (24 hours before I can use my new purchased space) Having reached 1000 posts a while back, I had planned to have a Giveaway at that time. Life got in the way and I've had little time to plan one. I hope to have that Giveaway real soon. In my mind, 1000 posts is a milestone for someone who wasn't sure what she was doing when she started this journey. I still don't know what I'm doing ~ my posts are a mishmash of this and that. Perhaps, one day I will have a central theme for this Blog. Until then, I will continue to post as I do and hope that I touch you in some way with beauty, humor, or interest. Seeing the news and realizing the horror that Hurricane Sandy has brought to so many, makes me pause and be thankful for the little damage she brought to our area. I will keep those people in my thoughts and prayers and hope that with the help of others they can get their lives back on track soon. Thank you for reading this and I will be back, with photos, as soon as Google gives me space!!! Audrey
I took many photos this week in our area. There is so much beauty to take in before it disappears and I fear that rain and wind from Hurricane Sandy will destroy much of it. I had about 10 more photos to load, but the dreaded box popped up telling me I have reached my limit on photos. Now I must purchase more space from Google??? Great. I will have to check into this and won't be able to post any photos until I find out what I need to do.
Click on the photos to make them larger so you can appreciate the color. Enjoy!
"In the entire circle of the year there are no days so delightful as those of a fine October, when the trees are bare to the mild heavens, and the red leaves bestrew the road, and you can feel the breath of winter, morning and evening ~ no days so calm, so tenderly solemn, and with such a reverent meekness in the air."
HAPPY 39th BIRTHDAY to the best son in the entire world!
I keep telling you that I feel bad that I'm not with you today and you keep telling me that it's no big deal. It is to me!!! I think men, in general, view birthdays as "just another day". A Mom views the birthday of her son as a very very special day. I could not imagine my life without you. So, even though I am not with you physically, please know that I am there in spirit with my arms lovingly wrapped around you. We will celebrate on our next visit together.
I hope some form of "magic" touches your life today.
Yesterday morning was The Blessing of the Animals at our church.
Father Kevin is reading scripture pertaining to God's creation of the animals.
Whenever there is a crowd of dogs, Jake is always drawn to the BIG ones.
Just one of the dogs that seemed to be paying attention to what Father Kevin was saying.
This little Yorkie got all dressed up for her blessing.
Jake spent his time checking out all the dogs that were there.
I was surprised at the small crowd that showed up, but I know Saturday morning is a busy time for most people. The small crowd was mostly dogs ~ one cat ~ and a cage with some snails. It made me happy to have Jake blessed.
You will always be Ruth Guth to me, my dear old friend. I hope you have a fun day! I will be thinking about you and remembering those good times we shared back at Kent State. A little bit of my heart still hangs out there.
Thank you all so much for the love, prayers, and support while my sister was in the hospital with pancreatitis. After several days of not being permitted to eat or drink a thing, she is now home recuperating. Once the pancreas inflammation is at a safe level, the doctor will remove her gallbladder, which apparently has caused the whole problem. After that, she should be in good shape. She gave us quite a scare and we are grateful that all is progressing well.
Your prayers were appreciated so much. It is a wonderful feeling to have friends who rally and pray the minute they are called upon for support. I thank you, and Patty thanks you.
