Obviously, the quality of these photos is not good. But, I wanted to share a couple photos in honor of Mother's Day. The first photo is my beautiful Mom in 1937 when she was 20. The necklace she is wearing (a small gold heart) was given to her by my grandfather. He gave it to his wife on their wedding day in 1912. My grandmother passed away when my Mom was a very young girl. Mom wore this necklace for many years. A couple of years ago, she gave it to me. I cherish it and wear it all the time.
The middle photo, taken in 1972, is Mom with her three children: My sister - Patty, me, Mom, and my brother - Patrick. I am so grateful to have many photos with all three of us siblings with Mom. The third photo is me holding Casey in 1973, the year he was born. Becoming a mother puts a whole new spin on the meaning of life. I wouldn't change it for anything.
I wish you all a very Happy Mother's Day!
I am leaving for Charleston in the morning and will be off Blog for a week. I plan to visit many art galleries and try to take some time for some much needed relaxation. See you when I get back. Have a great week.
