A Visit With An Old Friend

Audrey and Tom at TRENO RISTORANTE in Kent. It used to be PUFFERBELLY.

Another exciting day!! After a couple of years of planning, old friend Tom Stephan and I met up for lunch yesterday at Treno and then he took me on a tour of the Kent State campus.  Tom and I have known each other since we were young and were in plays together at the Canton Players Guild, lived a few streets apart for a while, and attended KSU together.  It had been 50 years since we saw each other.
Korb Hall was my dorm as a freshman and Tom lived in Manchester Hall in the Eastway Center Complex which is directly across the street from Korb Hall.  We went into Korb and I got misty-eyed and left. The dining room was in Eastway Center where everyone congregated for entertainment, bowling, studying, snacks, etc.
Tom was the perfect host as he knows the names of all the buildings ~ old and new.  Living nearby in Stow, he frequently has meetings at Kent for various groups he belongs to.
The old looking grey house is off-campus where I lived with 9 other girls the remaining years I was in Kent.  Seeing it again sure brought a lot of memories to mind.
I took too many photos to post.  The campus has grown SO much and the new buildings are beautiful. It was a most enjoyable afternoon.  Thank you, Tom, SO much for a memorable day.  It was great seeing you again and I enjoyed our catching up!!

One of the many fountains on the campus.  This one is very long with water falling over KENT STATE UNIVERSITY.

Another Black Squirrel sculpture.
Beautiful landscaping is found everywhere across the campus.
Two of them were there visiting yesterday ~ Audrey Gallagher and Tom Stephan
Tom says we still "bleed" Blue & Gold!
It is an everyday sight to see Black Squirrels running around the campus.
Eastway Center Complex is directly across the street from Korb Hall.  A dining room and social hall is at the center of the complex which is connected by 4 dorms ~ Manchester Hall, Fletcher Hall, Allyn Hall and Clark Hall.

Off-Campus Housing. I lived here for several years with 9 other girls.
Oh, the memories!!!
This is the building where I worked in the Alumni Office.  At that time, the Bookstore and the HUB were also in this building.
