Morning Visitor

Isn't she beautiful? When I came upon her, she was either too terrified to move, or she just didn't care. Standing only about 20 feet away, she stood there long enough to let me take several photos. The deer usually run fast whenever I approach them. She must have known I've been trying to get a good closeup for a LONG time. Once she heard me say "thank you", she took off into the woods.

Not a big fan of deer no matter how "beautiful" they are. They destroy my gardens..... Grrrrr!!

OOOOOOoooooooooooo I was going to read your post about your little dearie but saw the cancer candle and now I am doe-eyed myself! You so sweet, my friend. The beautiful cross you sent to me quite a time ago and I was thinking of sending to Ryan in Iraq, still sits at the base of my monitor at my desk, and there it shall stay...it was always meant for me. I am not afraid. **kisskiss** Deb

That is an amazing picture! I love the top one. I enjoy our deer, even though they eat most of what I plant. What can I expect? We back on to woods - lol! Luckily, they don't eat daffodils, so I have a fair amount of them in the spring. :) xox! Pam

Marilyn, a few years back I felt the same way after the deer had a lovely buffet of flowers, plants and even our small willow tree. I went on a search for the perfect spray and ever since I've been using it about once a month, the deer march through but don't eat the flowers. Now I enjoy their visits without worry.

Hi Linda! I think they know when we are trying to photograph them. They apparently don't like it.

Sweet Deborah, you are in my heart always!

Pam, it's good that your deer are selective eaters ~ maybe they don't like yellow!!! The deer in SC like yellow. They ate all my beautiful yellow flowers when we lived there.

Hi Cat! Isn't that funny? Your deer prefer strawberry over vanilla!! They really need to pay more attention to how much time we devote to our flower gardens. (:

What lovely photos! She seems to be a bit older and has a certain elegance to her.

Gail, you're right. I hadn't noticed it until you mentioned it. She looks proud! That must be why she let me take her picture. (:
