Walking Stick

This Walking Stick hung out at our house all day yesterday. It's the first one I've ever seen ~ interesting to look at but rather boring. It never moved all day long. I looked up some information on Walking Sticks. It seems it is normal for them to sit around all day long and then eat at night - vines, leaves and rose bushes.

This insect truly looks like a stick or a branch. I was happy to finally see one.

When I see creatures like that, makes me realize that God has a sense of humor! Happy Holiday, my friend!

I sometimes see these when I am pruning the bushes - they always startle me when they move! lol! We get a lot of praying mantis, too. One bit me once, so I don't pick them up any more, but they are so much fun to watch. Happy weekend - xox!

I have never seen one except in a photo. I have seen the bugs that look like leaves though. Thanks for sharing and happy holiday weekend. The Olde Bagg

Thanks for posting this picture. I have only seen one in my life and it was when I was 7 or 8, so a long time ago. They do look like sticks and don't move unless you get too close. Fascinating creatures.

Cool! I wish I would see one wild. I've seen them but never found a wild one.

I see them often in my yard. I love insects that wear camo. LOL! After photographing so many battered old dragonflies last month, today I saw a tiny, fresh baby one on my Basil. It made my day. Love & Blessings!
