Fun Evening with a Good Friend

Spent last evening with my dearest Virginia friend, Tricia Scott.  We talked, laughed, and stitched the evening away.
Tricia gave me this beautiful cyanotype that she created for my birthday gift ~ "Between Heaven and Earth".
Thank you, sweet friend.  I love it.

Special Birthday

HAPPY BIRTHDAY in Heaven, my Angel Mom!
We will celebrate your birthday without your physical presence, but our hearts are filled with your spirit and your love.
Today, I will listen for the sound of the Angels singing loud, and with joy, to my beautiful Mother.

Candlemas

Last night at church we celebrated CANDLEMAS ~ Also known as the Feast of the Presentation of Jesus at the Temple.
We had our throats blessed after Mass and each family was given a candle to light throughout the year to remind us that the Lord is Our Light.
We were blessed to see a beautiful sky above us as we arrived at church.  How appropriate to see the light through the clouds.

IMBOLC

HAPPY IMBOLC!
Imbolc is a pagan holiday celebrated from February 1 through sundown February 2. Based on a Celtic tradition, Imbolc was meant to mark the halfway point between winter solstice and the spring equinox in Neolithic Ireland and Scotland.

Staunton, Virginia

Yesterday, Patty, Jim, and I made our annual trip to Staunton, Virginia.  We went to THE FACTORY ~ which claims to be the largest Antique Mall in America.  It is huge and you cannot cover the entire place in one day.  We also stopped at Staunton Antique Center and a wonderful book store, The Black Swan.
It was a cold day and it snowed in Staunton.  We had lunch at Byers Street Bistro again.  Always really good.
We didn't buy a lot, but we enjoyed treasure hunting and the scenic views.

A beautiful drive to Eagle Rock, Virginia, today.

Surprise

I can't even express how much I love this piece!  It was given to me yesterday as a Christmas/Birthday gift by a dear friend who I don't see very often, but who has a special place in my heart.  A total surprise!  I love you, my friend.

My Booth

My sister and I restocked my booth yesterday afternoon with some unique very old religious pieces, framed prints, vintage gold frames, sweet Valentine goodies, dolls, brass, and more.

Quick Visit for My Birthday

At the Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport picking up Casey on Tuesday.

At lunch Wednesday before Casey flew back to Charleston.
Back to the airport yesterday ... off Casey went back to Charleston.  Sad to see him leave, but what a wonderful birthday visit!

Light

I just looked up at the top of my kitchen cabinets.  Wow!!  The sun has put a spotlight on my angel that I put there when we moved in.  I have angels all around the house.  It looks very spiritual.

Mountains

We moved from Ohio to Virginia in 2006, bought this lot, and built our dream home on it.  The view of these two mountains at the back of the lot stole my heart immediately.
All these years and I never knew the names of these mountains.  I downloaded the app "Peak Finder" today and now I know!
The mountain on the top that I post photos of often, is Masons Knob.  The mountain below is Twelve O'clock Knob.  They are both part of the Blue Ridge Mountain Range.
