Snakes and Statues

Very long black snake in the garden today.  They eat unwanted pests... but somewhat unnerving to have slithering around the yard.

This large St. Francis statue was my mom's.  It was in her flower garden in Massillon, Ohio, for many many years and then brought here when we brought mom to Virginia to live with us.  It was a treasure to her.
This garden area was her flower garden and St. Francis lived in it for the 7 years that mom was with us.  It will stay here as long as we do.
I personally love the weathered chipped look of outdoor statues.  Mom wanted this statue to look new, so we painted it many times over the years.  Mr. Magic is like her in that way - he painted it just last week as it was looking very weathered.
