USA FLAG
This USA FLAG is on the side of the road in Orangeburg, SC. It is on I-26 heading toward Charleston and it is huge. The flag is made of painted stones. I have been driving down there for 4 years now and this flag always looks well maintained. As many times as I've passed it, I always look at it and feel pride. I would love to see more of this type of patriotism elsewhere.
It seems we only show love for our country when there is a terrible tragedy. After 9/11, there were flags EVERYWHERE.... on houses, on cars, on lapels, on buildings. What happened? Why don't we show love for our country all the time? I'm thinking NOW would be a good time to pull those flags out and wave them all the time. Our country needs our love and support. Don't wait for July 4th. Do it now!!
Thank you, Orangeburg, South Carolina, for this beauty!
Be sure to click on the photo to get the full impact.
I posted this second photo so you could see the size of this flag in comparison to the trucks driving by. Notice the size of the three palm trees right behind the flag.

The flag is awesome. But then I am a American Flag nut.
This is in such sharp contrast to the flying of the US Flag upside down and put under the Mexican flag in California at a commencement ceremony of a predominately latino high school. No one wants to get me started.
Thanks Audrey for a positive US moment.
Wow. they really did that? flew the flag upside down? I am shocked. I have been wanting to paint a flag...although a bit of an abstracted flag...for a long time...and then a new artist in our co-op brought in his work and he had a painting of the American flag...very nicely done.
this is amzing!!! every town should have one :) thanks for stopping by my blog and taking the time to comment. Glad you enjoyed my herb garden, you don't have to wait until next year to plant some for yourself, start small and try growig them in pots, just remember they like sun, at least 6 hrs.
I am with you Audrey, we need more of this everywhere.
Isn't that wonderful! We must look a little over-the-top, for we have our Army Strong banner by the front door and three small American flags in honor of our son. Goosebumps!
**blows kisses** Deb
