Very Windy Day
I can't believe what the fierce wind has done to my Dianthus. It looks like a crop circle. The third photo shows what it looked like yesterday. There are small branches off the trees all over the yard.
Sweet Bird
This little fellow had lunch with Mr. Magic and I on the deck at Lew's in Holland today. He even sang to us.
The Reveal
Yesterday was 5 days, so I unwrapped the fabric. Not as exciting as I had hoped, but there is some pattern. I will be cutting this up to make journal pages. This eco-dyeing is a learning process, so I am not giving up. The fabric will still have meaning to me since it was dyed in the wisteria bath from the special wisteria tree.

Full Moon
Outside my living room window the other night.
On Facebook, a friend commented "The Holy Spirit wishing you a wonderful evening." I love that.

Art Cards
My "PATTERNS" theme art cards are finished and will be in the mail today. This was our Art Card group's theme for March-April. It was a fun theme.

Paper
I dyed paper this afternoon in the wisteria water, and while still wet I sprayed alcohol ink on them. Made some pretty paper to use in a journal and on other art pieces.
The tied fabric is still outside waiting for the magic to happen.
Birthday
Phillip Morgan, since you've locked us out of posting on your page....
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, friend!!! Hoping this year will bring a new assortment of head covers for your enjoyment!
Have a GREAT day!!

Eco Dying Wisteria
I followed the directions for eco dying with wisteria. Started out with soda ash and water, boiled the wisteria (I threw a few vinca vine flowers in), and now the fabric is bathing in the pot. It looks like the fabric will be brown rather than green or lavender - like a tea stained fabric. But, it is the process and the wisteria flowers that will make the journal special to me.

Eco Dying
I am very excited. My friend Susanne Skene suggested I eco dye some fabric with the wisteria and make a journal with the fabric in remembrance of the lost tree that Patrick and I planted together.
This will be my first eco dying experience. This is such a great idea, Susanne. Thank you.
I will post photos of the process tomorrow.

Thank
you, my friends, for caring and for all the suggestions. It looks like
there are some shoots coming up right next to the trunk of the tree. I
might try to root some branches, as well. I am feeling better. The
initial shock has passed. I will certainly miss the beauty and smell of
the beautiful wisteria, but I have photos of the tree over the years and
nothing can take away my memories of Patrick.
I took this photo just a few days ago.

SO Sad
I am in tears. We just returned home from running errands and found my Wisteria Tree on the ground. It apparently broke off at ground level. I don’t know why.
Many of you know that my brother Patrick helped me dig the hole for this little tree in the spring of 2010. He died while visiting here that Fall.
It was “our” beautiful tree. My heart is broken.

Marco Island, Florida
Jim and I were on one of the many trips we shared with dear friends Donald and CarolLee Phillips. This one was to Marco Island, Florida, where we celebrated New Year's Eve. We always had a great time with Don and Carol.
The Fire Within
An 18”x24” painting I purchased last month, by Donna Downey. I like Donna’s style a lot and wanted to own one of her originals. I love the striking brightness of color in this one titled “The Fire Within”.
I have taken Donna’s “48 Weeks” course - so enjoyable! I still work in the large journal.
