Eleven Roanoke Catholic art students (grades 8 through 12) painted this 5' x 10' mural "Angelus Stella" (Latin for "Star Angel") over the past school year. It was installed in the Roanoke city courthouse in early June. It was commissioned by Roanoke Circuit Court Judge David Carson.
"Star Angel", the name the students chose for the mural, is the loving presence that the students imagine watching over the people, animals, buildings, mountains, and water in and around Roanoke, nicknamed the "Star City" because of the famed giant star atop the city's Mill Mountain.

What a good descriptive painting from a group of young people in your area. Their hearts are in the right place. Good thinking on their parts.
