Blue Streaks in a Grey Day

We had a lot of rain yesterday during the night and it was gloomy, foggy, and wet most of the day. Passing the windows, I noticed blue streaks. On closer inspection, I found many bluejays flying from tree to tree as well as pulling worms from the earth.

I saw one bluejay once in a while this past summer, so I was surprised and happy to see so many yesterday. I had a hard time getting a good photo of one as they would only stay still for a few seconds.

It's great to see the birds again ~ a sign of better days to come.

I love bluejays; they may be squawky and run the other birds off, but they are beautiful and I love to find their feathers.
I never see them much---but I hear them out in the distance! :)

XXOO!!!

You guys is so lucky to have pretty blue jays....we only have mountain jays. They are dusty blue, foul temperament and I love the fact that they raise hell whenever they are around but I do envy the pretty blue jays in your neck of the woods.

I love jays, even though they run off all my cardinals at the bird feeder. They have the most beautiful coloring. I hope they are a sign of a lovely, peaceful year to come! xoxo Pam

i love the birds that are blue!! do you think that bluejays are skittish? some birds are very calm and aren't affected easily by humans others, like the bluejay, ( in my opinion) seem to fly away at the slighest sound or movement. I wish birds would just sit still a let us capture there beauty :) xoxo

Audrey, I had a whole flock of robins the other day. Not even sure if they go in flocks but it was cool. I'd make a lousy cat. ~rick

We don't have blue jays here although the local high school sports team is called the blue Jays. We have a bazillion stellar Jays, a few scrub jays and lots of gray jays. The grays will come to my hand to eat, that is the coolest thing! they will beg at the windows if I'm not outside when they come. they especially like cat food. I'm glad you enjoy yours, some people think they are pests but I enjoy them
