Art Cards

I received two Art Cards this week. Our group theme this time is “Architecture”. The first card is from Susanne Skene of Canada and the other is from Mariette Hebert also from Canada.

Both cards are lovely. Thank you for the beautiful papers and tea bag, Susanne. Mariette, the little accordion book is so sweet. Thank you.

Living the Creative Life

Our Living the Creative Life group met last night after 16 months! It was great to see each other again and share some of the art we’ve been working on. We met at Falafel House, picked up our dinners, and went to Wally and Therry’s house.  We exchanged our beginning "Round Robin" pieces which we will work on and exchange again when we meet on July 21.  Pictured, with no explanation, is art that we have all been working on.

Lizards. This was gifted to me a number of years ago by my brother-in-law Jim. He loves frogs, I love lizards, his daughter Maria loves goats. Our family love of animals is diverse.

Sunday evening storm.   I took these photos from our back porch deck just as the storm was rolling in.  It wasn't too bad, but Jake wasn't happy.  He doesn't like thunder or lightning!

Memories

My Vancouver friend, Mariette Hebert, posted this on Facebook today.  A fun memory.  Mariette now has a granddaughter here in Roanoke, born just a couple of months ago.  Hoping she can come visit real soon.

Our first night out eating at Cast, Plates, & Pints. I had Caprese Flatbread w/Grilled Chicken and a Peach Cobbler Taco. Delicious. We will be going back. Amazing menu.

This heavy metal pinecone never falls from the tree like real ones. It changes color from year to year and only makes a slight clanging noise when the wind is strong enough to move it.

Funny But True

How true and appropriate after posting my new haircut.

I never wanted to have short hair - I have always been a lover of long tresses. However, I was not blessed with thick stylish hair, and age and medication has caused it to be bothersome and unflattering. So, I chose this route which makes it a lot easier to care for. I’m sure I will appreciate it during the long hot summer days!
