We started out at Bender's for lunch (see previous post). While downtown, we visited St. Peter's Catholic Church and Heggy's. After touring downtown Canton, we went to McKinley Monument and the McKinley Presidential Library and Museum. I was thrilled to find Beulah (from Meyer's Lake Laff-in-the-Dark ride) residing inside the museum. It filled me with joy to hear her laugh again. We then went to the little park that was once Mother Gooseland. Took Casey there when he was a little tyke. Not much left, but Willy the Whale still there sitting in a horrid algae filled pond. So sad. The wall still stands and looks like it has been repainted, but nothing else remains ~ just grass and memories.
From there, we went to Mulligan's Pub for a drink. We went there often when we lived in this area.
Our final stop was Papa Bear's for a Pizza Oven Pizza!
We were happy, but very tired by the time we hit the Holiday Inn!
