Night Light
I received this wonderful piece over the weekend ~ "Night Light". It is a 4"x4" mixed media work of art by New York's SETH APTER. He presented it in a Facebook video last week and I loved it immediately. It is SO textural and colorful and I love his use of "found objects".
Seth is one of the best! I have followed him for many years and own several of his pieces. He travels the world teaching workshops and you can't help but love his spirit and excitement for creativity. I hope to enjoy one of his workshops someday!

Nine Years of Missing You

Fun Times in Michigan
Good friend Carol Phillips posted this on facebook today. What a fun memory. Had to share.
She said:
"Don liked to grow out his beard while deer hunting. While Audrey and Jim were visiting us in MI, he decided it was time to shave it off. "You need to trim it first", I said. "I'll do it", Audrey said. I laughed till I cried while snapping pictures."
It looks like I did some serious laughing, too! I'm sure we were saying things that was causing all the laughter. It's a wonder I didn't cut him.
I loved reliving this again through this memory.

Mural
I spent a good amount of time yesterday afternoon in my driveway cleaning 19 years of restaurant grime off of this mural that I painted in 2000. It hung on the wall in the Blacksburg, Virginia (Virginia Tech) Buffalo Wild Wings Bar and Grill. They moved the restaurant recently to another building and did not put the mural back up.
Miraculously, it found its way back to me. What will I do with it? Not sure. It is clean, rolled, and stored for now. I still have murals hanging in BWW restaurants in Roanoke and Lynchburg.
This one has a good number of signatures on it ~ VT football players, coaches, and others.

My dear old friend Carol Phillips has been posting photos on facebook. They are from long ago when she and Don lived in Ohio. We became very good friends and spent every weekend together for a number of years. These photos have brought back some wonderful memories, so I thought I would share them.
Don and Carol live in Texas now. We are still in touch, but it's a little far to be able to get together like the old days.
They are good people who have a warm loving place in my heart forever.

Deer Visits
We've had a few deer visits over the last couple of days. Mom came with two little ones yesterday. The little ones are SO cute with their spots. They ran and jumped around a little. Poor Mom has changed color and looks thin.
This buck came the other day and he looks very thin, too. He has an injury of some kind. When he walked, he had a very hard time with one of his back legs. I don't know if it is broken or what. It is SO sad seeing them all so thin. They apparently aren't getting enough food and winter is just around the corner.
I haven't seen Twiggy in a long time. If she has visited, I have missed her.
Sorry for the poor quality photos. My windows need washed and my camera lens is not working at full capacity.
Post Birthday
Jake was a little tired today. Turning 8 must have been hard work... or maybe it was the excitement, or the cupcake, or SO much love bestowed on his little body for his special day!! Whatever... these are very cute post Birthday photos!

Jake's 8th Birthday
Somebody very special has a BIRTHDAY today! Jake is 8 and we had a little family party tonight with a birthday cupcake.

YUM! He loved his cupcake. I only let him have about 1/4 of it. I never give him sweets, but birthdays are special.
