Wild Child

I purchased "Wild Child" from Texas artist and friend, Deb Taylor.  She arrived yesterday and is even more wonderful than I expected.  Just look at all the amazing beading.
There is SO much talent out in the world.  I will forever be thankful for Blogging and Facebook ~ both introduced me to artists across the world ~ many who have become good friends!

Love Mary

"Love Mary!  She is loveable, faithful, constant.  She will never let herself be outdone in love, but will ever remain supreme.  If you are in danger, she will hasten to free you.  If you are troubled, she will console you.  If you are sick, she will bring you relief.  If you are in need, she will help you.  She does not look to see what kind of person you have been.  She simply comes to a heart that wants to love her."
~St. Gabriel Possenti of Our Lady of Sorrows

Memorial Day

I read yesterday's paper this morning and saw this.  We read about so many soldiers who die in their quest to keep us safe, but when you look at this drawing and really think about the family of each of those soldiers, it becomes more real and the sadness becomes deeper and more personal.  It made me cry.

Visitor

It's 1:00 in the morning and there is a little green visitor out on my front porch next to the door.

Mary's Month

In church this evening I realized that May is coming to a close.  The month of Mary.  I have been away so much this month and I never posted a photo of Mary with her crown of roses.

Another statue ~ The Holy Family ~ in the church hallway - beautiful.
The mountain view outside the church doors.
Beautiful flowers in the church flower bed.
Our large fun LOVE sign that moves around the city.

This makes me SO very happy!

Mail

WOW!  I had a lot of mail waiting for me on my return home.  Included in the pile were these four Art Cards from members of our ATC Group:  Annie Hooten, Maggie Goodwin, Pam Gypsy Aries, and Mariette Hebert.  I thank each of you SO much.

Annie included ephemera and clay buttons that she made.  I won the buttons during our anniversary celebration.  Great card and fun buttons!
This is Maggie's lovely Earth Tarot card.  I love the napkin with the cutest little creatures on it.
Pam made a sweet High Priestess Tarot card.  I love that she drew the cute little "fish" instead of writing it on my envelope.  Her talent shows up in surprising places.
Mariette had showcased, on our group page, all of the Tarot cards she made.  Somehow, I had a feeling she would send me the "deer".  Thank you, Mariette.  I love it!

John Reburn

I wanted to post this photo of my longtime friend John Reburn with his mom Faye Reburn.
I've mentioned him in posts on occasion and couldn't pass up posting this lovely photo of John who won The Standing Strong Spring Luncheon Award today at Planned Parenthood's Spring Luncheon held at the Taubman Museum of Art.  Along with his company, Appalachia Press, "John has been a longtime sponsor of the Spring Luncheon and has lent his extraordinary design talents and printing services, year after year".
Congratulations, John!  Well deserved!  You look dashing and your mom looks exceptionally beautiful.

May 2014

I have no energy today.  Went to the grocery store ~ I guess that did me in.  So, I've been looking through old photographs and found these of Jake from May of 2014.  Had to share.  He looks pretty sad in the last two, but they are cute photos.

The Heartbreak Look

Mr. Magic was away and I had to leave for Vendor Night last evening.  Jake was giving me the "Mommy, please don't leave me again" look. The eyes were pulling at my heart.  I had to get back home ASAP.  He has had my full attention ever since I returned from SC.  My dear sweet little baby.

Home

Home! Pulled in at 6:30 last evening. It is good to be back. The baby looks SO little. 10 days away from him was too much. I missed him a lot! He licked me half to death last night.
I see a lot of work ahead. Laundry. House cleaning. Catching up on the mail. Catching up on art. Flower beds need attention. And on and on. Such is life.
The important thing is I had the BEST time with my son!

Saturday in South Carolina

What a send off!  Captain Casey drove Amanda and I all around the Charleston Harbor and the Intracoastal Waterway all the way to Isle of Palms today.  We are cooked and beat after 5+ hours on the water.
I am leaving Paradise in the morning.  Time to get back to my boys.
Battered from the wind and salt water.  In spite of using SPF30 today, I am now a soft shade of red.
 At the Marina.

 Our wake.
The size of this container ship was amazing.
There was an unbelievable amount of boats out today of every kind and size.  Casey was a bit stressed maneuvering all of it.
 Under the Ravenel Bridge.
We saw Pelicans, Seagulls, and even a couple of Dolphins.

Friday in South Carolina

Casey and I spent the day together in downtown Charleston.  It was fun to have him all to myself.  We had lunch at Monza ~ sat in the window seat, ate, talked, and watched all the people walk by.  I only stopped in a couple of shops and then Frogs and Horses led us to Henry's Supper Club.

Good Morning!
