First Day of Spring

HAPPY SPRING!!

It's wet out there with snow in the forecast, but at least there is hope for pretty Spring days in our future.  My Ornamental Pear Tree is ready to show off its beauty.

Cemetery Visit

 Gorgeous Sunday for a trip to the cemetery to give Mom and Patrick some Spring flowers.

A Beautiful Saturday

 Beautiful St. Patrick's Day!  I attended an OSTARA Party at the home of good friends, Wally and Therry, where everyone enjoyed great food and fun conversation as we welcomed the season of Spring.

 This was taken earlier in the week.  Our forsythia is in bloom and there is still snow on the mountains.

I took this photo late this afternoon.  We were out and about most of the day.  The wind died down and we almost reached 60*.  Pretty day.  Ready for Spring!

#2173 at Buy The Season

 As of February 28th, I gave up my 2nd booth and my glass showcase unit.  This corner is my one and only booth now.  I spent 3 hours in it today working and painting.  I think I'm going to enjoy only having the one ~ being able to spend more time merchandising and keeping it orderly.

March Snow

BIG fluffy snowflakes are falling today.  A BIG March snowstorm hit our area early this morning.  It is on the way out just as fast as it came in, but it left a beautiful white wonderland behind!

Work in My Booth

 I just spent an hour working in my booth ~ 1st time I've been able to in 2 weeks.  I hope to do more on Monday.  Beautiful sunset on my way home, and the deer were out front when I reached my driveway.

Out of the House

Yesterday, we had alternating sunshine and snow.  I didn't care - I had to get out after 10 days of being in.  Mr. Magic and I went out for soup and a sandwich.  The fresh cool air was exhilarating.

I'm Back

WOW!  It has been a while.  This just proves that if you stay away from something for a while, it can drag on to a very long time.
My sister and brother-in-law were here visiting for 6 weeks.  We were busy doing some running here and there, and she was helping me with sorting here at home and in my Buy The Season booths. There was much to do.
I am now down to one booth!  I will write a post on that in the near future.
The last week of their visit, I had a bad attack of gout in my foot - ankle and toes! It started Monday night, Feb. 26th.  I spent the next 6 days down and out on the couch.  Could not walk - too much pain.  I am now able to walk, but there is still a touch of swelling.  I've been doing a lot of reading about gout.  Nasty stuff.  Who knew it could set a person back for so long?
I had my first attack in 2016 - ankle.  I believe I might have to give up a few foods that I am used to eating.  I will do anything to prevent another attack.  Horrible! The pain was bad enough, but losing SO much time not being able to function was very inconvenient.
I've not been back to my booth in 10 days.  I am hoping tomorrow I'll be able to get a shoe on my foot, go in to BTS, and do some work.
I truly enjoy my sister and brother-in-law's winter visit every year.  I miss them being here. Jake misses them, too.
I'll do my best to keep up here on my Blog. I have quite a bit of catching up to do in many areas.

Winter Dragonflies

A Mild February Day

 Yesterday was a very mild February day here in the Roanoke Valley.  We had a beautiful sunset and the sky gave us a lovely show of pink and blue afterward.

Baby Rhino

The Cleveland Zoo announced the birth of a new baby Eastern Black Rhino, born on Feb. 7th to 14-year-old Kibibbi.

Freezing Rain

 More freezing rain today.  Mr. Blue Jay doesn't mind.

An Icy Winter Sunday

 We woke this morning to light snow.  It wasn't long before it turned into freezing rain.  Dangerous, but beautiful.  I HAD to venture outside to take photos.
