March Full Worm Moon

Here she is tonight!  The March Full Worm Moon.
At the time of this spring Moon, the ground begins to soften and earthworm casts reappear, inviting the return of robins.

In My Mailbox

In my mailbox today ~ purchases from Karen D. Milstein.  I love her creations.
Title of small metal angel ~ "A Crow in Her Pocket".  The tiny crow made of metal is removable.  SO dear!
The metal Karen uses to create these figures is from the workshop on their property that burned down a couple of years ago.
Karen also paints beautiful floral paintings and angel paintings.  I have several of her angel paintings hanging in my home.

Cigar Box Reveal

Last night, several members of our Living the Creative Life group met at Wally and Therry's to share our cigar box creations, and to enjoy pizza, salad, and the company of each other.
It was exciting and fun to see what an ordinary cigar box could become.
Kristie Taylor's box became a stunning Steam Punk Doll.

Therry Neilsen-Steinhardt's box became an Owl with, to our surprise, real chicken feet.

Megan Taylor's box became a deep textured Forest Scene.

Audrey's box became a Bird Themed Treasure Box.

Wally Neilsen's box had a profound message that we had to flip through to see the end result ~ a mirror showing the individual looking into it.
Our next gathering will be in April.  Our project to complete and bring to that meeting is "FLOWERS".  It can be a painting, sculpture, mixed media, etc.

Napkin Face

Had lunch with my sister at Abuelo's today.  I looked down on the floor and saw this face looking up at me.  This small corner (about 3/4") of a torn napkin has a perfect face with all the features.  I HAD to take a picture.  Wishing now that I picked it up and kept it.  Amazing!  If you picture a black hood on his head, it looks SO much like a man with a beard.

Spring Colors

It's beginning to look like Spring all around the Valley.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Patty !!
Because you love these little creatures SO much, this little sheep has come to wish you a Happy Birthday!
We've butted heads over the years, especially during our younger days, but that has all been water over the bridge for years now.  We've become closer and enjoy helping each other in times of need, sharing our interests and passions, discussing our pains and trials, fun phone conversations, becoming the game of "Aggravation" rivals, and making each other laugh a lot!
I hope you've had an enjoyable visit this winter.  I truly hate to see you leave for Ohio.  We've made more memories to add to our memory banks, and this Birthday Greeting sends wishes for many more memories to be made!
Looking forward to your Birthday lunch today!  I hope you have a beautiful Birthday, my sister Patty.

Taste and See

Glorify the Lord with me.  Together let us all praise God's name.
I called the Lord who answered me;
From all my troubles I was set free.
Taste and see.  Taste and see the goodness of the Lord.

The Trade

Had a great dinner and conversation at FIREFLY FARE at 16 West Marketplace in downtown Roanoke last night with Tricia Scott, Wally Neilsen, Kristie Taylor, and Megan Taylor.  I said goodbye to my "Witch Doctor" and hello to Kristie's "Mixed Media Angel", as we traded our creations.  A happy evening!!

Staunton, Virginia

On Wednesday, my sister, brother-in-law, and I, traveled to Staunton, Virginia, to America's largest Antique Mall. Pictured is my JOY from the trip!  I have a passion for books.  Could not resist these treasures from a very large booth of rows and rows of books.  This antique mall has 130,000 square feet of everything imaginable.  I go with them every year and we still haven't covered the entire place.  It was a fun day of treasure hunting!!
We had a nice lunch in historic downtown Staunton, visited an antique mall there, and then traveled north to Verona where the mall is located.

Signs of Spring

Another beautiful warm day.  Flowers are coming up through the soil and buds are opening on trees and bushes too soon.  I fear we might still see the wrath of Old Man Winter before Spring actually arrives.
