Audrey- I really like herons for some reason. Found a crippled one once and tried to save him but couldn't. but I swear that bird had a beautiful spirit. ~rick
Thank you, everyone, for your kind comments. I took this photo while living in South Carolina. This heron let me get unbelievably close to him. I didn't need to use much zoom at all. I think herons are beautiful birds. I would see the herons and the egrets daily - I do miss that.
Lovely pic----I occasionally see herons here (am assuming it's in the heron family?) but not up close!
